The contextualization of forgiveness plays a distinctly subjective role in the life of every human being according to his or her experience, which allows us to reflect about how these conceptions could be integrated in a social level as a possible tool within a peace process period in order to contribute to the reconstruction of the social structure. Considering forgiveness as a part of resolution of conflicts raises the question, what do the victims really understand about this concept? Looking for giving a response to that, the following thesis will present a historical review concerning the important landmarks that have defined the Colombian armed conflict and will identify the concept of forgiveness from three victims of the conflict coming from rural or farming areas in the south of Tolima, implementing the socio - critical paradigm that allows to comprehends the process of construction and reconstruction towards the meaning of forgiveness, starting from the point of self- reflection of subjects, theirs needs and their families. The approach to develop will be qualitative because it is necessary to analyze the testimonies and life stories through a narrative research design using as an instrument the semi-structure interview that permit to match the theory with the voices of the participants
