This is a qualitative research exercise, a descriptive which describes the different situations that arise in dealing with emergencies in the UPSS Santa Cruz, Metrosalud, taking into account the principle of opportunity. The study presents the process of patient care in the emergency department, evaluating the timeliness of care in each of the triage and on demand coverage of the emergency department by patients in the area of Santa Cruz. At the end we present some results that reveal the level of care to users of the emergency department, taking into account waiting times, these results provide a general guide, a tool to guide conceptual and methodological quality of he service emergency, so that helps improve the quality of life of city dwellers and country.
