The objective of the project Burnout Syndrome in officials of an organization in Bucaramanga was to evaluate occupational burnout in the workers of an organization in Bucaramanga through the "Occupational Burnout Scale (EDO)" test. This research was carried out through a quantitative, cross-sectional approach with a descriptive scope and a non-experimental design, in a population comprised of 100 people, including men and women of legal age, residing in Bucaramanga and belonging to the organization.Occupational wear and tear is evaluated through the EDO instrument, which in turn allows obtaining the degree of burnout according to Leiter's model in four phases: healthy, normal, in danger and burnt out, and enables the evaluation of the three dimensions of wear and tear as depersonalization, emotional exhaustion and achievement dissatisfaction.The results obtained in a population comprised of 69% men and 31% women, indicated that 46% of the population is in phase 4, which indicates a diagnosis of burns and mainly affecting the male population. Likewise, it is evident that 99% of the population is in the depersonalization dimension, 54% in the achievement dissatisfaction dimension, and 66% presents emotional exhaustion.Due to the above, the importance of the role of the organizational psychologist is highlighted, to address prevention programs, strategies and early identification of risk factors, which allow mitigating the integral deterioration of collaborators and the presence of Burnout syndrome in the organization.
