"Colombia is a region of South America that, due to its socioeconomic conditions, geographic location, biodiversity of reservoirs, vectors and tropical climatological characteristics, has favorable conditions for the entry, development and persistence of certain emerging diseases". Currently, in Colombia there are more than 60 infectious diseases considered of public health interest; these are characterized by an endemic behavior in more than 85% of the national territory and are within the framework of acute febrile syndrome (SFI)".
