Business growth is a challenge that all companies face in today's competitive market and is an important input to ensure and maintain positioning. In this sense, experience shows that it is the smaller companies that are more inclined towards growth. For their part, the organizations with the highest growth, on the contrary, are committed to maintaining growth or, failing that, increasing it. In this writing, the identification of the financial factors that have limited the growth of small and medium-sized companies in the context of the department of Córdoba is taken as an object of study. To do this, it begins with the analysis of the financial environment that these organizations face; subsequently, the financial alternatives used by them as strategies to mitigate the factors that become opportunities for improvement are reported, and finally the financial structure and organization of the companies in the regional context are identified.
