Objective: To analyze the current situation of the indigenous peoples of Colombia against the proposed in the Integral Model of Health Care. Materials and methods: narrative review based on data from Scielo, Dialnet and Redalyc, 30 articles published in the last 5 years were consulted, a documentary matrix was made, from which the main health problems of indigenous peoples were identified. Results: Indigenous epidemiology, administrative political, cultural competence, PHC model and cross-cultural health, health care and cultural aspects as indigenous visions were found as determining aspects of the situation of indigenous peoples. Conclusions: there is convergence between the problems of indigenous peoples and the proposal in the MIAS, however, it is necessary to consider theoretical, methodological and conceptual sources, to achieve the cultural competence of the professionals who carry out the interventions.
