Faced with the two possible tendencies of professional training in universities: scientific and professional, it is worth asking which is the most appropriate or if, on the contrary, it seeks to rescue the basic function of the University: to work for the benefit of the community with programs that correspond to their deepest needs, an intermediate position must coexist that seeks, in addition to satisfying the demand of the "market" for professionals, to enrich knowledge and scientific production. The result of this questioning, closely linked to the mission and objectives for which the institution was created, will serve as a starting point, but its static or dynamic analysis will determine, based on the changing conditions of the environment, its permanence in the stage of knowledge management.
