Introduction: Early dental loss generates alterations in the positions of the remaining teeth, so that, if not intervened in time, this leads to dental loss, structural and functional alteration of the stomatognathic system. According to the literature, the prolonged use time of the dental prosthesis should not exceed 5 years, since it would cause a mismatch, giving rise to superinfections or microleakage lesions that would generate maladaptation and alteration of the soft tissues. This situation requires dentists to be up-to-date and enlightened, since it is their responsibility to make an early diagnosis and establish an adequate treatment in order to prevent and mitigate the appearance of injuries, as well as their possible complications. Objective: To determine the prevalence of oral lesions associated with the use of dental prostheses in Villavicencio. Methodology: Descriptive, cross-sectional, quantitative, cross-sectional study. A sociodemographic data collection was carried out in a convenience sample over 18 years of age., after which the construction of a database was carried out, where the variables were analyzed and the appropriate frequencies and percentages were obtained using the Spss 27.0 program. Results: 30 patients were observed, of whom 63.3% were male and the remaining 36.7% female. Regarding age, 75% were less than 86.5 years old. For the analysis of the oral findings, it was possible to demonstrate that denture stomatitis is the most prevalent lesion, present in 56.7% of the patients, with the upper jaw where the lesions are most frequently located with 60%. Regarding the type of prosthesis used in the upper jaw, 70% are carriers of total removable dentures and in the lower jaw, 33.3% are carriers of removable partial dentures. Conclusion: 73.3% of the participants presented oral lesions associated with the use of removable dental prostheses, with denture stomatitis being the most prevalent lesion.
