Análisis de la autopercepción de estrés, salud mental y variables sociodemográficas durante el tercer pico de la pandemia por Covid-19 en el personal de enfermería del hospital Manuel Uribe Ángel del municipio de Envigado-Antioquia

Abstract:

This research analyzed the levels of self-perceived stress, self-perceived mental health and its association with sociodemographic variables of the nursing staff of the Manuel Uribe Angel hospital during the third peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, finding a high-level report in terms of self-perception of stress in a third of the participants (32.1) % and a low self-perception of mental health level in more than half of the sample (55.8) %. Similarly, statistically significant associations were found in the self-report of symptoms of anxiety and depression, and the perception of a low level of mental health; Similarly, higher levels of self-perceived stress were found in female staff. Additionally, statistically significant associations were found between the results, suggesting that greater work experience seems to be associated with low-level self-perception of stress. No significant differences were found between the age groups regarding the level of perceived stress; however, older age groups reported low self-perceived stress levels more frequently. As a finding, a significant association was found between the type of hiring and the level of perceived stress. Similarly, it was possible to establish that the less hours of sleep, the greater the probability of self-perception of a high level of stress, as well as a low level of mental health. Similarly, it showed a significant association in relation to the death of an acquaintance or family member from COVID19 and a perception of high-level stress.
