Psychoactive substances are substances that, when consumed continuously, generate dependence and addiction. These compounds cause alterations in the individual, affecting their performance and interaction in various areas of their lives, including aspects such as family life, education, occupation, leisure time, among others; that is why the present study aims to identify the existing risk factors for the consumption of psychoactive substances in the students of the law program at UCC, Villavicencio. The general objective is to analyze the psychosocial risk factors associated with the consumption of psychoactive substances in the students of the law program at the Cooperative University of Colombia. For this reason, the methodology used for the research is quantitative, non-experimental, and the chosen instrument is the Drug Use Screening Inventory (DUSI), which has ten (10) domains, eleven (11) subscales, and 159 items. Regarding the results obtained, it is established that in the Global Severity Index (GSI), 46.1% of the population is within a very high level, which alludes to little incidence of consumption, but high-risk factors are evident. This means that the areas that present the most significant effects are social competencies, social networks, recreational activities, and behavioral problems.
