Revisión de criterios de validez y confiabilidad de un instrumento para medir estilos de crianza en el colegio República Bolivariana de de Venezuela en la ciudad de Bogotá D.C. 2011
Psychological Evaluation is one of the main processes within research; It is the discipline that deals with the study of human behavior, individual and in group, with various objectives through the application of different devices and measurement techniques. Its importance lies in the fact that the psychologist has to carry out evaluative tasks whatever the career and professional field of it. Among the main difficulties is the lack of contextualization of the tests, the use of foreign parameters for the analysis of the data obtained, the lack of tests adapted to each of the regions or populations of application, unsystematic psychological evaluations or with the use of instruments with psychometric and methodological insufficiencies, and difficulties in the elaboration of scientific products that allow the dissemination of the results of the investigations carried out (Mellado, 2005). According to this need, in the City of Neiva, a first stage was initiated, which was the design of a scale to measure parenting patterns in secondary school students in the city of Neiva, and the Bogotá campus joined in the second phase for the Application of the instrument in the official educational institutions in the city of Bogotá, taking up the fundamental criteria such as internal consistency, construct validity and reliability in order to complete the standardization process. In the standardization process of Neiva, an internal consistency of 0.684 was found, which was satisfactory for being located in a range of 60% to 70% through Cronbach's Alpha, to establish the validity of the construct, the statistical technique of factorial analysis is taken. which takes up the concept of total variance explained, this had a value of 36.2%. Regarding reliability, the 36 items were analyzed, revealing that only some have low correlations, but most of them have a score greater than 0.80, showing a correlation between questions. It was also found that this instrument measures other elements, constructs, or variables. The family constitutes an environment of vital importance for child development, since the state of defenselessness that the child has must be safeguarded by both parents, or by at least one of them. The following question arises: Is the validation of an instrument necessary to measure parenting styles practiced by parents? From this, the following work objectives were proposed: Review the instrument designed to measure parenting styles "Parenting Styles Scale" in secondary school students belonging to school grades from 6 to 9 between 12 to 16 years old, of socioeconomic level two and three in the Official Educational Institutions of the city of Bogotá; Identify validity criteria in the instrument designed to measure Parenting Styles; Determine the degree of reliability of the Parenting Styles Scale.
