Total Health EPS-S in compliance with the provisions of Law 100 of 1993 that establishes the General Social Security System in Colombia, epidemiological surveillance is a useful and fundamental tool in all benefit plans, allowing us to know the behavior of the different events presented in the health-disease process, enabling the design and implementation of actions that intervene in the monitoring of events of interest in Public Health in users exposed to risk factors, establishing clear objectives within which the actions of promotion and prevention. The implementation of the epidemiological surveillance system includes all those activities and strategies to monitor notified users, in order to collect information in a timely, routine, continuous and systematic manner for the identification of priority groups, observation and evaluation. of actions in the environment of the protected and the impact obtained with the control measures implemented, thus guaranteeing the health of the insured.
