The purpose of this descriptive study was to establish the concordance of profile types in soft tissues with skeletal classification I, II and III using profile X-rays. The inclusion criteria were: patients between 16 and 45 years, without history of plastic or maxillofacial surgery and with complete permanent dentition. A total of 100 profile X-rays was taken. Results: the 49% of the sample was skeletal class I, according to ANB; of this, 68% correspond to straight profile, 18 % was convex profile and the 14 % was concave profile. In skeletal class II (42%), 76% have convex profile, and the remaining 24% corresponds to straight profile. In class III (9%) only 78% have concave profile and the remaining 22% have straight profile. The concordance was 72% for ANB and 53% for Wits. Conclusions: the concordance among the straight profile and the skeletal classification I, II and III, was bigger for the class I followed by the II and the III. It was higher for the measured ANB than for the Wits.
