Introduction: psychosocial interventions in mental health are becoming more important every day in terms of protecting the mental health of the patient, these tools being an easy, safe and effective way to prevent and treat alterations in the mental health of an individual. Objective: To identify from the scientific literature which are the psychosocial and mental health interventions developed by health professionals. Methodology: narrative review through a search in the databases provided by the Cooperative University of Colombia, such as BVS and Taylor and Francis, and in search engines such as SciELO and academic google, where 30 scientific articles could be identified in English and Spanish, taking into account the Inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: participants were identified between 35 weeks of gestation and up to 76 years of age, predominantly in the age group of 30-60 years. Likewise, it was established that the type of diagnosis or predominant history in 30% were people with some type of psychopathology, on the other hand, It was established that 63% of the articles analyzed included interventions that sought with a single method to cover the promotion of mental health, the prevention of mental disorder and the treatment of mental illness, in the same way, that 44% of the interventions carried out were music therapy and the health professionals who had a more active participation in the application of the interventions were the nurses and the psychologists. Conclusions. Research is of great importance for human talent in health since through this narrative review psychosocial interventions that turn out to be effective in improving the mental health of individuals, families or groups could be identified. Among these interventions, music therapy, auriculotherapy and aromatherapy stood out, among others that had positive effects on the participants.
