Design of a hybrid offshore aquatic renewable energy system (solar energy and wind energy) as a solution to the problems of drinking water and electricity on the island of Providencia, Colombia. A comprehensive solution is presented that includes electrical power generation systems, reverse osmosis water desalination system, intelligent system based on the Internet of Things IoT, flotation and anchoring systems for an offshore platform, among others. In order to carry out the solution presented, the energy potential of the area, climatic aspects, social, cultural, geographical and economic conditions of the area were taken into account. Additionally, the study and use of sensors, communication protocols, calculation of powers and consumptions, electrical generation equipment, among others, were considered.
