The main objective of the research was to review the construction validation of the “Parenting Styles Scale” instrument, which is constituted in two phases; The first was developed by the Cooperative University of Colombia (Neiva Headquarters), which aimed to design and standardize the “parenting style scale” instrument, to identify and describe the existing parenting patterns within the families of the students of the official educational institutions of the city of Neiva. Subsequently, by the Cooperative University of Colombia Bogotá Headquarters), the validity criteria in the instrument (parenting styles scale) are reviewed. When applying the Instrument mentioned above, in the different schools that participated in this study, inconsistencies were found in the validity, therefore, the main objective of this research is based on reviewing the Validity criteria in the instrument (scale of styles of parenting), which was applied to the students of official Colleges of the city of Bogotá. Taking into account, the above will be taken as a reference the Validity in the application of the instrument in the Juan Lozano Lozano School in the Town of Suba, and for them psychometric aspects such as validity and reliability are used. For the above, a quantitative, descriptive investigation was proposed. The population was made up of 163 students who were between 6th and 9th grades of secondary school, aged between 12 and 16, at Juan Lozano Lozano College, located in the town of Suba.
