This research project addresses the critical success factors of patient safety, which is taken as a priority in the care of health services In the framework of the health emergency by Covid - 19, with the aim of characterizing the culture of patient safety in health personnel in the framework of COVID-19. During the pandemic, a high mortality was evidenced due to the adverse events presented in the different hospital institutions, which is considered a serious public health problem. Thus, this study aims to identify the perception of patient safety by health personnel in the framework of Covid - 19 in two health service provider institutions in the year 2021. The methodological process addresses the study of cross section, where they applied a survey to professional health personnel in two hospitals belonging to the Orinoquía Region. From this investigative process, a survey was applied to 105 collaborators in the health area. Despite the care provided by the health personnel of the hospital institutions, the perception of precariousness of services persists regarding health management due to the health emergency. The shortage of medical resources, human talent, infrastructure are means that have led to adverse events, but in recent times and in the midst of the pandemic, a high degree of medical errors has been evidenced that have led to these events and that endanger the physical and mental integrity of the patient for which it has been led to question through this investigation what is the perception of patient safety in those who work in health?, and why has increased the events during the pandemic?. The response to this problem was developed in this project during the investigation in 2 health institutions belonging to the department of Meta where, through a form, the instrument Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture was applied, which aims to measure patient safety in which is composed of 12 dimensions with 52 questions and in answers of agreement, strongly disagree, strongly disagree, disagree, neither agree nor disagree, where to analyze it it had to be grouped by items and applied in the spss system, there I classify in the following criteria equal to or greater than 75% of positive answers in the questions formulated in positive, as well as the items analyzed that as results give a percentage equal to or greater than 75% in answers formulated in negative was taken as a sample negative. Currently, this instrument allows very useful tools for the assessment of patient safety, in which it allows the creation of timely, effective strategies and the evaluation of adverse events that occur in the hospital setting. In view of the analysis of the results, it was found that in the institutions an evaluation of adverse events was carried out, where their situation was analyzed for the training of an improvement plan for health workers, with doctors and nurses being the ones who most adopted these measures. due to frequent contact with patients and resulting in a decrease in their frequency compared to previous years. Finally, it is shown that the implementation of improvement actions, the training of health workers, increased staff and delegation of functions, such as the implementation of a well-structured and organized service, helps to mitigate these risks, since they are serious for the institution in terms of the health of patients that can cause even death if not also in the financial and prestige part. That is why not only the application of the instrument helps to reduce events, but also its evaluation periodically, learning to know what the perception of patient safety is, but also evaluating and characterizing what those shortcomings or errors are. commit frequently, whether structural, organizational or directly assistance.
