The cannabis-producing countries are Morocco (47,000 hectares), Mexico (15,000 hectares), Nigeria (4,500 hectares), Lebanon (3,500) and Paraguay (2,780) (Ganeshgrow, 2019). In Colombia, as of 2016, Law 1787 regulated the commercialization and use of cannabis for medicinal purposes (Rueda & Sánchez, 2021), supported by Decree 613 of 2017 where it regulates the use of cannabis for medical or scientific purposes, in which They have granted approximately 656 licenses for cultivation and 171 for the manufacture of derivatives (Pinzón, 2020). This industry is still under construction, but it has advanced in its expansion, generating amazing benefits in the population where, according to a Portfolio report (2022), two people diagnosed with cancer were cured with medical cannabis, and from there a business idea of create a company called "Greenlab" explore the benefits of the plant by making oils and products related to health and beauty in humans, where they make high-quality extracts through innovation, techniques in the cultivation and extraction of the plant, although Its founders state that their undertaking has not been easy, adding that since the regulation of medical marijuana they have been able to venture into their own challenges in the sector and have had a good position in the market. Cannabis in Colombia is barely bearing fruit, it has had participation in the textile, food, beverage, and cosmetic industries, among others, contributing to the country's exports, where during 2019 foreign sales of US$310,270 and 2020 were registered. $5,175,620 being Antioquia, Cundinamarca and Bogotá the main exporters of cannabis. Oils, resins and extracts are produced in the country as raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry and intermediate lines. One of the challenges facing the sector is the lack of financial leverage, where Banco BBVA is the only institution that has supported businessmen who develop activities with this product (Portfolio, 2022).
