The following degree project seeks, through research, to understand the needs of the elderly and their environment, supported by Colombian governmental guidelines on the subject of care for the elderly, in order to develop a viable business idea that will benefit this segment. The research is developed under a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach, where information is collected through surveys, which are analyzed to measure the results in the acceptance of a recreational place that can take care of the elderly; the target population are the elderly and their families. The study begins with the analysis of the target public and the proposed place to start the leisure club, located in Barrancabermeja, then the market is identified so that data are found to verify the potential market. Subsequently, the technical analysis is proposed to determine the requirements of the establishment where the service will be provided, which will allow to know the costs and budgets for the start-up of the business. Similarly, the administrative and legal study is carried out, and finally, the economic viability of the project is evaluated through a study of financial components.
