A sample of 7–12 children years (n=168) of the districts Malvinas and Villa Suárez, of Villavicencio, chosen to make a descriptive study of the Development of the Con- servation, according to piagetian expositions. Instrument The origins of intellect adapted: Piaget’s (1975). The test evaluated seven slight knowledge of conservation, being applied two exercises by subcategory. The used objects were located and transformed to obtain answers of non– conservation, Transition and Conservation. The results differ from piagetian principles in relation to ages of appea- rance by the waited for subcategory and, of theories and investigations that emphasize the negative incidence of unfavourable environmental factors on the cognitive deve- lopment, all time, that the minors Conserved according to their age surpassing, answers, in spite of the psycho–social conditions in which they live.
