According to Polaino-Lorente, et all (1988), depression is one of the most prevalent pathologies in human beings, being seen as one of the mental disorders that has been studied by different professionals who work in the field of mental health. such as psychologists or psychiatrists. In the same way, with the present investigation, it is intended to carry out a screening in relation to depression, identifying the levels of depression that exist in adolescents aged between 15 to 17 years of the Los Centauros Educational Institution, who are in the grades tenth and once, with a quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional methodology, the objective will be obtained through the execution of the Kovacs Childhood Depression Inventory, which will evaluate depression through two scales: Dysphoria and Negative self-esteem. The sample will be selected by means of a non-probabilistic demonstrator for convenience, where the participants must meet the inclusion criteria, the realization of the present investigation will be carried out through some phases, which are found in the methodology section. Finally, with the results obtained, minimum, mild, moderate and high levels are identified, where the infants studied present depressive symptoms such as sadness, self-hatred, difficulties sleeping or eating, suicidal ideation and isolation; These symptoms can be caused by different factors, whether biological, family, personal, social or school.
