The successful culmination of the diploma course on research carried out during the year 2000 by more than 40 professors from different academic units of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Bogotá branch, constituted the initial commitment with which the institution is sponsoring the investigation. For the first time, the University undertook an effective effort -and not nominal as in the past- to generate investigative processes linked to teaching. The enthusiastic response of the professors to the call for completion of the diploma course was prompt and extensive: Up to 60 professors attended the weekly sessions and as an academic and intellectual distillation of the entire first process, 18 research projects were produced that inaugurated the Bank of Projects of the Research Center of the Cooperative University of Colombia, Bogotá
