The need was identified to acquire in the laboratory of the Cooperative University of Colombia, Villavicencio Headquarters, a 3D augmented reality (AR) sandbox that allows students to “create topography models graphically through real sand, which is then instantly augmented using an elevation color map, topographic contour lines, and simulated water. The system teaches geographical, geological and hydrological concepts such as: reading a topographic map, the meaning of contour lines, hydrographic basins, catchment areas, dikes, etc. " (Augmented Reality Sandbox - EIT. 2017)
