This project presents the development of an information system for grocery stores of the city of Villavicencio, which will allow shopkeepers to have secure, timely and reliable access to all their records such as inventories, sales, expenses and credits. , using a web-based system. A systematic literature review was carried out to look for methods and techniques for the development of the system. In the identification of requirements, information-gathering tools were used, such as the interview and the survey, in order to identify the current situation of record management and the scope that the system may have. For this development the Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodology was applied, which consists of four consecutive phases: Start phase, elaboration, construction and transition, with their respective iterations and artifacts. The solution was developed under the design pattern Model View Controller (MVC), using the HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL database engine languages.
