The review of literature carried out in different search engines such as thesis, monographs, journals; carried out during the months of May and June 2021. It was found that horses in Colombia have multiple pathologies such as laminitis, navicular syndrome, abscesses, candidiasis, frog infection; of which through the search of information from eight years ago, it could be evidenced that laminitis is one of the main equine pathology problems, its causes in feeding, traumas, injuries, diseases, handling and hygiene of the animal. However, laminitis is one of the greatest challenges for the veterinarian, for this reason it is very important to perform a thorough clinical examination, to reach a treatment depending on its cause, since this pathology is taking the lives of more and more horses with a high economic value every day.
