Oil crisis has had a negative impact on the Colombian economy, especially in the regions where this industry has been the most influential. This article aims to analyze the oil crisis and its impact in Puerto Pompeya, Meta. The method applied was mixed, the descriptive method was combined with the quantitative to analyze the figures that the 314 surveys carried out on their residents to identify their economic situation and hopes for a change. Results showed that the fall of oil prices harmed merchants and other inhabitants of the social and economic sector; a situation that will improve once they start getting profits from government programs, City Hall, Chamber of Commerce and SENA, to recover agricultural, industrial and touristic productivity; it was concluded that this situation occurred before the neglect of the National Government, which focused on oil production, forgetting other branches such as agriculture, industry and tourism, but chances are Puerto Pompeya will once again be positioned as one of the first growing areas by means of their own people.
