Introduction: The OMS identifies suicide as public health prosperity; however, it is preventable through timely interventions. Suicide is a tragedy affecting families, communities, and countries that have lasting effects on those who are close to suicide. Methodology: A systematized random sampling was conducted, in which subjects were selected through random numbers. The sample was made up of 46 students of both sexes, between 11 and 18 years old, who are in secondary education (sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth) in an educational center in the city of Neiva-Huila. The questionnaire of school bullying (cie-a abbreviated) and the inventory of positive and negative suicide ideation (PANSI) were used. Results: 46 students were evaluated from the Educational Institution, in the city of NeivaHuila, 26 were women, and 24 were men, with a median age of 14 years, of the grades 6 to 9. The data indicates that 59% of the students present low suicidal ideation, it is important to emphasize that the students represent stable protective factors in their daily life. The female sex indicates that she is at high risk as opposed to the male sex. Discussion and conclusions: Suicidal thinking is of great abnormal affectation in adolescents, therefore, they believe that it is the only way out of all their problems, which is why it is where risk factors and protective factors manifest themselves. The suicidal ideation is a frequent problem in students, associated with adolescence. These thoughts can have different causes, they can be the consequence of feelings that they cannot face when they are presented with a painful situation, when they have no hope for the future, and then they mistakenly think that suicide is a solution, which it is the only way out.
