Introduction : The avulsed tooth is the total expulsion of the tooth out of its socket , this type of injury is not very common but is one of the most severe dentoalveolar trauma therefore be considered a dental emergency . Because not only affects tooth function but also the patient's self-esteem and aesthetics , the success of treatment depends on many factors , including the stage of root development, extra- alveolar time ( timely care ) , storage media and scarring. Objective: To determine through a review of scientific literature, the factors that influence the success or failure of replantation after dental avulsion and possible consequences. Materials and Methods: The literature search was conducted in the following databases: PubMed and Science direct. Different types were included as case report study, cross-sectional descriptive clinical trials in English, Spanish and Portuguese unrestricted year. For the analysis used CASPE guides and special guides for the analysis of descriptive studies. Results: The search yielded 1273 articles, 1106 were discarded by topic, by restricting access to full text 148, for an overall of 19 items: one longitudinal, transverse 4, literature review 2, case reports 9 and experimental.
