In Colombia, proper management of construction waste is crucial for the progress and development of society. Although some cities are able to utilize a portion of their waste, there are challenges due to non-compliance with regulations, low demand for derived products, and lack of awareness about reusable materials. While the reuse of construction waste is at a low technological level, some companies have driven artisanal initiatives for recycling. Measures have been implemented for comprehensive waste management, demonstrating the feasibility of using them in eco-friendly concrete and soil improvement. This review work offers a contribution of theoretical knowledge for a greater understanding in the management of construction waste, both for the community in general and for the academic, scientific and student community. Likewise, it is expected to promote the recycling and use of construction and demolition waste, RCD in order to achieve sustainable development in the country.
