This article presented the beginnings and causes of globalization, the institutions that were born from the beginning of this, its development in Latin America and in Colombia, a continent that initially took the same protectionist measures, a look was taken about how these policies emerged, their main actor and their impact, giving an introduction of how Colombia a country that entered late in globalization and that the effect on its economy was immense, must implement new global trends to continue with its development as Participatory economy in the current globalization, so we wanted to present an example of a trend that affects the global production carried out by a Dalian, a Chinese city, which had its beginnings in globalization almost at the same time as Colombia and that implemented globalization in a correct way, taking it to development as a city, with the objective of reflecting on the possibilities of Colombia in the current trends that globalization brings, in the same way we found the mistakes that Colombia made by not implementing well the opportunities that globalization had in its boom, also the need to take advantage of the new trends that current globalization brings and know how to apply them.
