Technological development and advances in mobile technologies have allowed users to access resources that in the past were not so affordable. From knowledge management to business management, technology has been involved in every context of our lives, including finance and accounting, which is why today people who lack advanced accounting knowledge can keep records accounting automatically thanks to the existence of accounting software and applications designed for it. However, beyond expecting that professional accounting work, that is, the public accountant profession, is being displaced, a deposit has been evidenced between the profession and the new tools. This essay shows, in short, what has been the impact of these tools, as well as their benefits and harms, based on the concepts and opinions of other authors who have published on this relevant topic.
