The systemic review of the literature in this research project looks to comprehend the family functioning in spaces where the domestic violence attacks the children population, based on the Latin American research. This document uses the systemic review as the main pillar to explain the family functioning and the dynamics found within this problematic. Different databases such as Academic Google, Scielo, ScienceDirect, Dialnet, ProQuest, Redalyc and academic databases were used to make this research, obtaining 50 articles that met the exclusion and inclusion criteria. For the methodology, an analysis based on the grounded theory will be made in order to understand the following aspects: the ones that ease the family functioning, the ones that make difficult the family functioning and the three axial categories known as cohesion, adaptability and communication. These are based on the Olson’s Circumplex Model (1979).
