Summary. Objective: The objective of this review was to identify alternative feeds that can be obtained in Latin America that can be used in the nutrition of pigs during the growth and finishing stages as a partial or total replacement to conventional feed raw materials. balanced through a monographic literature review. Methodology: For the implementation of the systematic search, the electronic academic databases Sciendirect, Scielo, Pubmed, Redalyc, Web of Science were reviewed using the keywords: pig, alternative feed, growth, finishing, replacement. With the inclusion criteria: in vivo pig studies including a treatment control with a diet with the same nutritional composition as the treatment diet with the inclusion of the alternative diet; publications in Spanish, Portuguese and English languages; studies where the zootechnical results and the productive stage of the animals are reported; documents that have a publication date between the years 2012 and 2022, scientific articles that include studies with replacement of macro raw materials. Documents in which the studies have been carried out with raw materials that can be cultivated in Latin America and that can replace the energy or protein component of the diet will be taken into account. Results: Of the 2,860 articles found in the databases, 53 articles were selected that met the inclusion criteria. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there are many alternative feeds that have the capacity to replace one or more conventional ingredients in pig diets, without affecting the zootechnical performance of the animals, but the development of economic ones is necessary, which allow knowing the viability of supplement the animals with these alternatives without generating cost overruns in the productions, in addition to guaranteeing an offer that meets the needs of the productions.
