Emotional dependence is the tendency that some people have to depend affectively or emotionally on another, feeling the need to be with that person, in the same way, having behaviors of submission towards the subject, giving up their freedom and generating in the individual a false happiness, in addition through this, conflicts can be caused in the individual who possesses it in the different areas of his life, seeing this affectation in young people, since it is at this stage of life that they are seen. initially romantically involved (Congost, 2014). Given the above, the present study aims to identify the degree of affective dependence presented by young people from the Faculty of Law of the Cooperative University of Colombia, having a quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional methodological approach, with a sample of young students. university students between 18 and 15 years old, to whom the IDE Emotional Dependency Inventory is applied, which is validated by Setzer (2020). Finally, based on data analysis, the results indicate that young people from the Faculty of Law of the Cooperative University of Colombia at the Villavicencio campus are at a low level of emotional dependence.
