The purpose of this project is to present a proposal for studies and hydraulic designs of a wastewater treatment plant (PTAR) for the town of Riomanso located in the municipality of Rovira, Tolima, which is based on the characterization of the population under study, in order to obtain the kind of plumbing devices that this community has and also determine the needs and consumption that are carried out according to each one of the use of the properties, where for this case properties were found as schools, bars, middle class homes, lower class homes, shops, medical centers such as the intensive care unit, hardware stores, churches, hotels, restaurants among others, having the classification of the properties, we proceed to carry out the treatment procedures of the sewage water. Initially, it is proposed to generate the proposal for the location of the wastewater treatment plant, for which criteria are taken into account, such as the optimal space for the dimensions and needs of the plant, a place that has elevations lower than those of the populated center in order to have a flow by gravity, thus generating the adequate drag of the solids and contaminants of the water, in this way it is taken into account that this property must be in the vicinity of the surface source to which the water will be delivered treated. On the other hand, there is a grease trap for each property, since these are designed according to the classification of the property mentioned above and it is designed in order to have a preliminary treatment that contains the greatest amount of fats, oils, detergents and solid waste delivered by appliances such as laundry, dishwashers, washing machines, among others. Likewise, the criteria mentioned in the technical regulation of the drinking water and basic sanitation sector (RAS 2000) are taken into account, where in the design of the primary treatment there is a septic tank and for secondary treatment there is an anaerobic filter. of ascending flow, these two structures are designed in order to allow the sedimentation by gravity of heavy contaminants within the water, such as fecal matter and, in turn, by having a passage through the filter bed of the anaerobic filter, it is necessary to This removes the fine particles that may have remained in the water. Finally, there is the design of the tertiary treatment for which there is an infiltration wetland, which is based on chemical, physical and biological processes where contaminants such as organic matter that can be transported by water are eliminated, obtaining a water clean water that can be reused or returned without negatively impacting surface sources.
