The poultry sector in Santander Colombia is of great impact for small and large producers. The objective of this study was to conduct a literature review based on epidemiological aspects of two diseases belonging to the genus Campylobacter spp. - Salmonella spp. considering its source of infection, reservoirs and its clinical pictures in the human population. Methodology: A search of scientific articles related to the topic to be discussed was carried out using databases (Pubmed, Science Direct, Google school) where documents related to the topic of interest were obtained, using keywords such as Poultry; Salmonella spp; Campylobacter spp; Colombia; Epidemiology). To obtain information. Results: In the search, 92,481 were found where factors and inclusion and exclusion were selected to identify infectious agents present in poultry productions that cause pathologies of importance for public health and poultry production chain, these bacteria are found in the intestinal flora, causing disease. Another important factor is to benefit the birds, they are in direct contact with viscera from disease-bearing birds, contaminating a large number of carcasses or the contact of the viscera of some channels with other birds and finally the places where the birds p remained for a period of time. Conclusion: The correct training, use of good management practices allows to reduce the links of the production chain and in turn the contagions of the final poultry products avoiding public health problems.
