Cleft lip and cleft palate are frequent congenital craniofacial malformations; their etiology is multifactorial. A clinical case of a 3-year-old male patient with a diagnosis of unilateral right cleft lip and palate is presented, who was referred at 14 days of age to the multidisciplinary care group for patients with cleft lip and palate of the Faculty of Dentistry. from the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Pasto headquarters, is treated by phono audiology and pediatric dentistry where he was fitted with an obturator plate, In plastic surgery he underwent right unilateral cheiloplasty and continued his controls with maxillary orthopedics and orthodontics where type guide guides are performed on the occlusal surfaces of upper and lower molars with light-curing resin and subsequently the Frankel class III functional appliance is adapted in order to work from the orthopedic area to align the fissured maxillary segments prior to their palatorrhaphy so that their result is optimal in the functional part at the level of swallowing, lingual position, relation of the maxillary segments and narrowing of the fissure and in the esthetic part the correct development of their quality of life, all this being possible since a multidisciplinary work carried out
