The main objective of this academic essay is to establish the behavior of the legal monthly minimum wage in force in Colombia in the last eleven years, which, in addition, contributes to understanding the importance of remuneration for a worker, regardless of the value of the income and the questions that are raised because it is considered low. The analysis carried out in the essay invites business administrators and entrepreneurs to a sharp reflection on the courage of the people who constitute companies in the country and what it really means to pay salaries in an economic context characterized by the existence of companies, which in 97% are MSMEs, with low levels of competitiveness and facing very complex macroeconomic and social problems.
