This degree project was carried out with the intention of studying a sample of companies in the clothing manufacturing sector in Bucaramanga and its metropolitan area and thus being able to determine the current situation of the sector, based on the development of two fundamental objectives that allowed to identify , characterize and diagnose the environment of the sector. The most important factor was the need to improve competitiveness in companies in the sector, since their participation is deficient in the local market, there is a lack of technological innovation and a lack of strategies to counteract the economic and social imbalances in the city. . The development of the project was carried out through the deductive method since it seeks to see the universal realities to apply them in the companies studied, from this perspective the ways of managing and operating organizations in a global context are observed with the purpose of strengthening the related factors with competitiveness and associativity, all focused on maintaining businesses and making them sustainable economic units that allowed the formulation of premises, and the need to prepare the SWOT matrix, a fundamental element for the generation of strategies in favor of strengthening the sector. The most important result obtained from the work was the construction of strategies and action plans aimed at improving internally administrative and technological aspects in companies, and externally, the image and positioning of the sector in relation to the population and the competition. with other regions of the country.
