This report of business practice, social solidarity aims to propose a document management system for the program and project bank of the Secretary of Planning of the District of Santa Marta. For the development of the report, the concepts of authors such as Lacombe (2009), Russian (2009) and Mena (2005) were taken into account. The type of research was descriptive with no-experimental and transactional or transversal design. It is proposed the implementation of a document management system that will allow the normalization, management and control of projects, and access to information; Likewise, it will be a way of complying with the General Law of Archives Law 594 of 2000, in relation to the rationalization and processing of Public Administration documents, and with the applicability of the computer tool (SGDEA). It is recommended to execute and implement the document management system and have a specialized staff in the area of Information and Documentation and Archiving (Professional, Technical and / or Auxiliary) for the correct administration of projects.
