Virtual Learning Objects (OVA) are didactic materials used for education through an electronic device. The objective of this study was to design multimedia resources to promote the reading of the sugar content present in the nutritional label of processed foods, in parents and/or caregivers of children from 1 to 12 years of age. For the design of the VLOs, two focus groups were held with parents and/or caregivers of children between 1 and 12 years of age in the group, which were organized according to the level of schooling. During the qualitative analysis of the 2 focus groups, a main aspect was defined that groups the categories and subcategories defined during the analysis. This aspect is associated with the high presence of sugar in the diet of children, from which 4 mentioned categories arise and of great interest for both groups: 1. Lack of knowledge of the consequences of sugar in the diet, 2. Absence of reading of the nutritional table, 3. Elaboration of foods with high sugar content, 4. Importance of multimedia resources to educate about this topic. Once the designs were built, they were evaluated by experts in the dimensions of coherence, quality, ability to generate reflection, interactivity and motivation. Based on the implemented methodology, 12 OVAs were designed, on themes associated with the categories defined in the focus groups, and which were qualified by experts with an average greater than 4.0 in each of the dimensions evaluated. These designs were improved according to the suggestions indicated during the evaluation.
