The purpose of this thesis is to diagnose the process of making financial decisions in the management of transport companies in the city of Barrancabermeja, through a global view of the impact of the transport sector in Colombian society, specifically in the area of the oil port. Being the transport one of the economic sectors of the country with greater importance according to its functionality and dynamism, as well as its contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP), this is why this project focuses on the operation and organization of these companies, verifying its structure, economic environment, practices and methods to make financial decisions. Due to the importance of managing financial information within organizations as a basis for planning and projecting them, this project is implemented in the company TRANSRUEDAS S.A.S. of Barrancabermeja, to be able to apply within its structure basic methods of financial analysis as a mechanism for making investment, operation or financing decisions, which diversifies the possibilities to solve future problems and keep a business going.
