The exposed research was carried out with the objective of identifying the levels of depression in medical students about to carry out an internship at the Cooperative University of Colombia, Villavicencio campus, during the development of the investigation. This research is quantitative descriptive, which describes, classifies, divides and summarizes the phenomenon to be treated, with this type of research, it seeks to describe levels of depression in said students, it also has a sampling by coexistence, which means that the Researchers require certain characteristics of the people to be surveyed. The test used is the Beck Depression Inventory, which is validated in Colombia and is widely used to measure depression. According to the results obtained, the test was applied to 31 third-semester medical students, who are close to doing practice, of these 31 students, 9 are men and 22 women. The men had a result of: 5 men with minimal depression, 1 with mild, 3 with moderate and 0 with severe, in the case of women the figures are worrying since the results obtained show great depression on the part of them being 9 with minimal depression, 4 with mild depression, 5 with moderate and 4 severe.
