The sustainability issue is not just a fashion item or currency, Sustainable Development has led to a globally recognized organizations would be to achieve economic results, social and environmental, really remarkable. By guiding organizational strategy towards achieving high standards for each of the assessment areas, there are benefits for different stakeholders in the organization (in our case the Universidad de Medellín) and not only in the short term but in the term also because sustainable development is based on the constant search for solutions and implementation of better standards of past crises generated product and look at the solution of the crisis expected in the future. Our analyzing the gaps between the Universidad de Medellin and the information available on its evaluation of the leaders of the different economic sectors involved in the Dow Jones, we have identified that although the University has important standards for the different dimensions of corporate sustainability (Economic, Social and Environmental), the University must implement activities to improve in each of the items identified, in order to set standards nationally and internationally. This qualitative analysis can also accurately identify the main points of assessment, enabling the University of Medellin improve the process of promoting higher education through academic excellence, research culture and social responsibility, to build regional and national development in the international context.
