The present research project sought to identify the life history factors that influence the permanence of Colombian teachers in their teaching careers. For this purpose, biographical narrative interviews were conducted with three teachers who remain in the classroom and two teachers who left the classroom for a total of five participants. The research is qualitative in nature with a phenomenological design that focuses on the analysis of life stories. The common and different significant experiences of the participants represent the essence of the research to establish the factors that influence the permanence of teachers in their teaching career, its scope is exploratory-descriptive.
