The research presents an X-ray of reality regarding the academic aspirations of 10th and 11th grade students from educational institutions located in both urban and rural areas of western Antioquia in a year that was seriously affected by the pandemic. and whose reality is influenced by different variables of their environment, such as the socioeconomic stratum, composition of the family nucleus, income, study modality, among others, highlighting that for this year the Observatory extended the investigation to the 19 municipalities of West Antioquia and It included educational institutions located in the rural area since in the previous year, the priority was concentrated in those located in the urban area, thus achieving a more holistic view of the academic preferences that young people in the subregion have for the programs of undergraduate.
