The environmental situation is a problem that is affecting the entire world, one of the causes is the low level of recycling in some countries such as Colombia; for the city of Bogotá, a city with a large population of all regions of the country, about 7,500 tons of garbage are generated per day and recycled only between 14% and 15%, being below the national average that is 17 % of 12 million tons of garbage per year (Money Magazine, The opportunity is in the garbage., 2009), in addition to this, the city has only one sanitary landfill, which fulfilled its useful life a few years ago and has come making adjustments (DNP, 2019). Taking into account the growth of new technologies, there is the possibility of implementing Blockchain technology in the process of collecting solid waste data (plastic, paper, cardboard, glass and metals), making it easier for companies and especially the district, bring a traceability of the proper management and the correct disposition that is being carried out in the city, which in the future will allow to promote the participation and inclusion of the Bogota society in obtaining rewards on the recycled elements and taken to the companies that manage them, In this way it would be contributing to the care of the environment and the community.
