Forest statistics in Colombia include, among other issues, what concerns forest plantations, where the planted area consists of 523,255 ha and the mobilized wood from these plantations corresponds to 1,066,560 m3 for the first semester of the year 2021, this context is competence of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) together with the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) in accordance with Law 101 of 1993. It is necessary to consolidate forest statistics related to forest plantations with CIF resources and the mobilization of wood in tons as a tradable unit in the agricultural sector. Therefore, within the framework of the development of this internship, through the review of MADR and ICA databases and training for the use of the VUF, two phases are established, the first proposing a methodology for the volumetric conversion of mobilized wood from the fifteen main species and the second consists of the validation of CIF projects greater than 100 ha. For the year 2020, the mobilized wood figure of 1,329,445.82 t was obtained, highlighting the species Eucalyptus grandis W. Hill as the largest contributor with 428,436 t, highlighting the use of the normal and basic densities of the species, on the other hand, validated 180 CIF projects, with 39,417 ha between the years 1995 to 2012. It is concluded that the use of density as a physical property of wood allows obtaining an approximate result in the conversion of units from the singularity of each species and with respect to the CIF projects evaluated, it can be determined that the database presents inconsistencies with respect to the VUF and its files, which can generate inconsistencies in the national statistics.
