The purpose of this work is to generate insights on how throughout history, diverse bodies have been subject to discrimination and prejudice, which affects the full enjoyment of life. Symbolic violence is understood as a set of acts that includes discrimination and segregation based on the imposition of precepts like 'normality' and functionality, which affects identification and connection with others. This unfortunate reality, however, represent a crucial event to reconsider language and behavior in order to foster authentic inclusion. The importance of approaching functional diversity from a more compassionate and empathetic perspective is highlighted, ensuring the complete enjoyment of all bodies.
