This paper describes the rehabilitation, testing and commissioning of the goniophotometer of the lighting laboratory of the District University "Francisco José de Caldas", Faculty Technology. In the first stage, a diagnosis was made of the equipment in which the reasons for which the equipment was out of service were determined and proposals were made to correct them, subsequently these corrections were made allowing the equipment to be put into service. In the next stage, the luminaires available in the laboratory were used and photometric tests were carried out to characterize them, at the same time as determining the physical characteristics of the luminaires capable of supporting the goniophotometer. Finally, proposals for laboratory practices with the equipment that could be made by the students of the Faculty and the University were generated and a manual for the user of the equipment was designed for the laboratory's disposition.
